Getting Started

Setting up Kennel Max is simple, and this guide will help you get started quickly and easily.

Initial Setup

After signing up and confirming your email, you’ll land on the Admin Dashboard.

Look for the yellow alert box at the top of the page, follow the banner's prompts, and click each link to complete the setup. You can finish it in less than 15 minutes.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  1. Your pet business information.
  2. The rates you charge for boarding and daycare.
  3. The spaces you have available for pets should match the types of pets you care for. This can include one or more options, such as kennels, pens, hutches, enclosures, runs, or aviaries.
  4. Details for one customer and their pet to practice entering data.

Note: All configurations can be customized later as needed.

Business Profile

Click the link in the yellow alert box labeled Business Profile link:

  1. Fill out the form
  2. Click Update.

The system will assign a default currency based on the country you select.

Configuring Pet Types: One-Click Setup

Click the link in the yellow alert box labeled One-Click Configurator link:

The configurator provides an easy way to set up the following sections with one click:

  • Pet Types: Select from options like Dog, Cat, Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Bird, or Exotic Pets.
  • Vaccines: Automatically populate common vaccines for each pet type.
  • Breeds: Automatically populate common breeds for each pet type.
  • Spaces: Set up the number of available spaces.

Notes:

  • You can customize these settings later as needed.
  • If your pet type isn’t listed, you can still add it manually. This will require manual configuration of pet types, vaccines, breeds, and spaces. Refer to the documentation for details or contact us for assistance.

Rates

Note: These are rates for daycare and/or boarding services. For example, $10.00 per day for daycare, $38.00 per day for boarding, and so on.

  1. Click the link in the yellow alert box labeled Please make sure you have at least one rate set or navigate to Rates from the left menu.
  2. Click Add New Rate in the top-right corner.
  3. Repeat the process for all rates, including daycare and boarding.

Add Your First Customer and Pet

  1. Click the Customer & Pets link in the yellow alert box.
  2. Fill out the customer information and save it.
  3. Once saved, link a pet to the customer by clicking Add in the Pets card (on the right in desktop view).
  4. Enter the pet’s details and save.

Important: Pets must be linked to a customer. You cannot register a pet without an owner to maintain data integrity.

After completing the steps above, you can begin creating daycare and/or boarding reservations.
